DOT Specimen Collector Training

Become a qualified DOT urine specimen collector with our comprehensive in-person and virtual training course, conducted via Zoom. This course covers everything you need to know, including:

  • DOT regulations and compliance standards as outlined in 49 CFR Part 40
     
  • Proper collection procedures for urine drug tests
     
  • Uneventful collection practices to ensure a smooth process
     
  • Understanding and identifying fatal flaws in the collection process
     
  • Chain of custody and documentation
     
  • Conducting mock testing and collection practices
     

The course includes the cost of the class, shipping, and mock testing supplies to ensure you have hands-on experience.  Please provide your mailing address during checkout to receive your mock supplies.

Class Duration: Please be prepared for class to take up to 8 hours. Actual completion time may vary based on class size, participation, and skills practice.

DOT Collector Proficiency Demonstration (Mock Completion Only)

Our DOT Collector Proficiency Demonstration service is designed for individuals who have already completed DOT urine specimen collector training and need to fulfill the required mock demonstration component in accordance with federal regulations.

This service provides a structured and compliant pathway to complete the five required mock collections, including applicable problem scenarios, under the guidance and evaluation of a qualified specimen collector trainer. Each demonstration is reviewed to ensure proper procedures, accuracy, and adherence to DOT standards.

Upon successful completion, participants will receive documentation confirming completion of the proficiency demonstration requirement.

Important Compliance Notice

This service provides proficiency demonstration only and does not replace the requirement for formal DOT collector training. Final qualification as a DOT urine specimen collector requires both training and successful completion of mock demonstrations, as outlined by U.S. Department of Transportation regulations (49 CFR Part 40).

Participants are responsible for maintaining documentation of prior training and presenting both records to demonstrate full qualification if requested.

Participants must have completed prior DOT collector training. 

Harrington Healthcare Solutions reserves the right to require full training if prior education cannot be verified or if minimum knowledge standards are not met.

DOT Error Correction Training Requirement

According to 49 CFR Part 40 §40.33(f), if an error occurs during the collection process that results in a canceled test due to a fatal or uncorrected flaw, the collector is required to complete error correction training within 30 days of being notified of the mistake.
